0185 - DDaT Project Manager

DDaT Project Manager

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Project Manager to manage a range of Digital projects that underpin service improvement, operational effectiveness, and organisational transformation.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead projects that directly support frontline operations, enhance public safety, and improve the way we deliver services to our communities. Working across a diverse portfolio of digital initiatives, you will help shape the future of our organisation through innovation and effective project delivery.

Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service is delivering an ambitious programme of change and improvement across the Service and with key partners. You will play an important role in ensuring that critical technology programmes are delivered successfully and achieve lasting benefits for the Service and the communities that we serve.

About the Role

As a DDaT Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, managing and delivering a range of digital, data and technology projects from proposal through to implementation and benefits realisation – specifically our NWFC CAD / ICCS project and our Emergency Services Network project.

Working closely with stakeholders across operational and support service departments, as well as external partners and suppliers, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing DDaT projects and work streams.
  • Developing and maintain project plans, business cases, schedules, governance documentation and reporting.
  • Managing project risks, issues, dependencies, resources and budgets.
  • Engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure successful project delivery and change adoption.
  • Coordinating activities with suppliers and partners
  • Monitor project progress and providing regular updates to project boards.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and project management best practice.

About You

We are seeking a proactive, organised and technically aware project professional with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

You will have experience delivering complex digital, technology or transformation projects and be comfortable working across multiple stakeholders, priorities and work streams. You will be able to build strong relationships, manage competing demands and maintain momentum to deliver successful outcomes.

Most importantly, you will share our commitment to public service and understand how effective project delivery can help support frontline colleagues and improve outcomes for our communities.

Salary: £45,091 - £46,142
Hours: 37 hours per week. We support part-time working, job-shares and other flexible options - these can be discussed at interview.
Contract: Permanent
Location: Penrith Headquarters, and home-working.
Closing date: Sunday 20 September 2026
Interviews: Interviews will be held in-person on Wednesday 7 October 2026 at CFRS Headquarters, Penrith.
