Lead Field Performance Managers and support a large interviewer workforce across your region
We're looking for three Regional Field Managers to lead high-performing teams across Nat Cen's interviewer workforce. Reporting to the Head of Interviewer Operations, you'll be responsible for regional delivery, ensuring fieldwork is completed to the highest standards of quality, productivity and performance.
This is a significant leadership role, leading Field Performance Managers and supporting a large interviewer workforce across your region. You'll use workforce planning, performance management and operational insight to ensure your region has the capability and capacity to deliver against demanding targets, while driving continuous improvement and colleague engagement.
We're looking for experienced operational leaders who have successfully managed geographically dispersed teams through others, can use data to drive performance, and are passionate about developing people and delivering results. Experience in survey operations or other field-based operational environments would be advantageous.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of interviewer operations at Nat Cen and play a key role in delivering some of the UK's most important social research studies.
What you'll do- Lead regional operations - oversee the organisation and delivery of fieldwork across your region, ensuring quality, productivity, response rate, timetable and financial targets are achieved.
- Build high-performing teams - lead and develop Field Performance Managers, creating a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
- Drive performance through insight - use management information, workforce planning and operational data to identify opportunities, manage risks and improve outcomes.
- Ensure workforce capability and capacity - plan regional resource deployment and recruitment activity to ensure delivery requirements are met now and in the future.
- Lead through others - provide coaching, mentoring and performance management to first-line managers, helping them deliver excellent results through their teams.
- Strengthen regional delivery - take ownership of regional KPIs, implementing corrective action where quality, productivity, capacity or engagement indicators fall below expectation.
- Collaborate across Nat Cen - work closely with stakeholders across Data Collection and the wider organisation to support operational excellence and service improvement.
- Experience leading operational teams through first-line managers.
- Strong leadership and people management capability.
- Experience managing remote or geographically dispersed work forces.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using management information to drive performance.
- Proven ability to improve operational performance against targets and KPIs.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
- Knowledge of survey operations or comparable field-based service delivery environments.
- Experience managing interviewer work forces and leading operational change initiatives would be advantageous.
