Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation (blue light service) with various locations across Scotland, is currently looking to recruit a Programme Manager for an initial 12 month contract on a rate of £500/day (Outside IR35). This role will be mainly remote working, with potentially the occasional couple of days in the office from time to time.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a nationally significant transformation programme on behalf of the organisation.
  • Manage delivery of multiple interdependent work streams.
  • Coordinate activity across all Directorates and operational functions.
  • Manage significant capital and revenue programme budgets.
  • Report directly to the Programme Board and Senior Responsible Owner.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources involved in programme delivery.
  • Oversee programme governance, assurance, benefit realisation and transition planning.
Essential Skills
  • Degree-qualified or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Recognised Programme or Project Management qualification (MSP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ or equivalent).
  • Significant experience leading large-scale programmes or complex organisational change initiatives.
  • Experience of programme governance and assurance within a large organisation.
  • Experience of managing substantial budgets and financial controls.
  • Experience engaging with senior executives and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of strategic risk and dependency management.
  • Experience of supplier and contract management.
  • Experience of producing reports and presentations for Board-level audiences.
  • Excellent programme and project management skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management capability.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in complex environments.
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills.
Desirable Skills
  • MSP Practitioner qualification.
  • Experience of nationally governed programmes.
  • Experience of business change and organisational readiness programmes.
