About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Risk Manager to join their fully remote leadership team. You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating the diverse risks faced by the company, ensuring its long-term stability and success. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks and a proactive approach to safeguarding company assets and reputation. You will contribute to critical strategic decisions and foster a risk-aware culture across all departments, operating effectively within a virtual environment from anywhere, supporting business functions potentially based in Nelspruit.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.
- Identify, assess, and prioritize key risks across all business operations, including operational, financial, strategic, and compliance risks.
- Design and implement risk mitigation strategies, controls, and action plans.
- Monitor the effectiveness of risk management processes and report on risk exposures to senior management and the board.
- Develop and deliver risk management training programs to employees at all levels.
- Stay abreast of emerging risks and regulatory changes affecting the insurance industry.
- Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the insurance sector.
- In-depth knowledge of ERM frameworks (e.g., COSO) and risk assessment methodologies.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, essential for a remote leadership role.
- Professional certifications such as CRISC, CRISC, PRM, or FRM are highly desirable.
