Role Description
Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic leadership and overall direction for The African Soul Centre, ensuring alignment with its mission of community empowerment and sustainable impact. This part-time, hybrid role is based in the Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates, with a combination of on-site work and flexibility to work from home. The CEO will oversee organisational strategy, financial sustainability, operational effectiveness, and stakeholder relationships, including donors, partners, community leaders, and regulatory bodies.
Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding program development, monitoring performance against impact and compliance targets, supporting fundraising and partnership initiatives, and reporting to the board on organisational priorities and risks. The CEO will also cultivate a collaborative culture, strengthen governance practices, and represent the organisation in key external engagements.
- Strong financial acumen, with skills in Finance and Business Planning to ensure responsible budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Proven experience in Operations Management to oversee programs, processes, and organisational systems for efficiency and impact.
- Capability in Strategic Planning to set long-term goals, define priorities, and guide the organisation’s growth and sustainability.
- Experience in Sales or fundraising-related activities to support donor engagement, partnership development, and revenue generation.
- Previous leadership experience in non-profit, social impact, or community development environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage boards, donors, partners, and community members effectively.
- Understanding of governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management, ideally with exposure to POPIA or similar frameworks.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in business, finance, public administration, social sciences, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, international context and to manage a hybrid work schedule across locations.
