Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Logistics Manager to lead their supply chain operations based in Mahikeng, North West . This senior role will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and optimization of all logistics activities, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods. You will manage a team, oversee transportation, warehousing, and inventory management, and develop strategies to enhance supply chain performance.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of logistics management, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies to support business objectives.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the supply chain, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory control.
- Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Negotiate contracts with carriers and third-party logistics providers to secure favorable terms.
- Monitor logistics performance, analyze key metrics, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a progressively responsible logistics or supply chain management role.
- Proven experience in managing complex logistics operations and teams.
- Strong understanding of transportation modes, international trade, and warehousing best practices.
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
