Now, we're looking for a dynamic leader to carry this mission forward, someone who can honor our legacy while reimagining how we educate the next generation of individual investors.
This is not a maintenance role. This is a transformation opportunity.

The Role
As Director of Education & Member Learning, you will own the full lifecycle of member education, spanning curriculum strategy, content development, and program delivery. You'll modernize our educational approach for today's learners while preserving the analytical rigor that has made our methodology effective for decades. Working closely with the marketing and operations teams, you'll ensure that the quality and relevance of our educational offering supports both member acquisition and retention.
You'll report directly to the CEO and serve as a key member of the leadership team, with significant autonomy to shape strategy and drive results. You will lead and manage a team spanning home office education and magazine staff and volunteer educators, and serve as the primary Home Office liaison to BIVA (Better Investing Volunteer Advisory Board), which leads our volunteer network and chapter development efforts.
This is a broad role by design. Better Investing is a lean organization, and we're looking for someone who sees that as an opportunity to have meaningful impact, not a reason to hesitate. This position is remote-first: you can do this job from anywhere in the U.S., with occasional travel to our Troy, MI headquarters for key meetings and events.
What You'll Do
Educational Leadership

• Own the strategy, development, and delivery of all Better Investing educational programs, including online courses, webinars, workshops, and in-person events
• Lead, develop, and manage a team spanning home office education and magazine staff and volunteer educators, setting clear expectations, coaching for growth, and holding the team accountable for results
• Develop and manage the department budget, monitoring expenses and anticipating resource needs
• Serve as the primary Home Office subject matter expert on Better Investing's core analytical framework (the Stock Selection Guide) and the educational resources built around it
• Design and maintain a structured, sequenced curriculum built around the SSG, covering foundational concepts for beginners through advanced applications for experienced investors
• Develop new educational pathways that meet learners where they are, with clear progression from introductory to mastery-level content
• Lead the team to create compelling content across multiple formats: video tutorials, interactive tools, written guides, and live instruction. Work closely with marketing to ensure appropriate reach, deployment, and alignment with SEO and digital acquisition goals
• Establish metrics for educational effectiveness and continuously improve based on member outcomes, working with marketing to understand the impact of educational programming on member acquisition and retention
• Identify and cultivate relationships with subject matter experts and guest instructors

BIVA Liaison

• Serve as the primary Home Office point of contact for BIVA
• Equip and empower volunteers to deliver Better Investing's educational mission effectively, providing the tools, frameworks, training, and support they need to teach with confidence and consistency
• Collaborate with BIVA to develop and refine educational content that volunteers can effectively deliver to chapters and investment clubs
• Represent volunteer perspectives in Home Office strategy discussions

Publications Advisory

• Oversee Better Investing Magazine and ensure editorial content aligns with the organization's educational mission and vision
• Collaborate with the Editor in Chief on content strategy to ensure consistency between published content and core SSG methodology
