The mission and strategy function is a group of support service teams that seek to advance approaches that are core to the fulfillment of HOPE’s mission regardless of context or method. These disciplines include spiritual integration (SI), listening, monitoring, & evaluation (LM&E), strategy design & management, innovation, and strategic alliances. The director of strategic alliances is responsible for resourcing program leaders to pursue and support strong partnerships and relationships within HOPE’s network of programs and partners, as well as to support strong collaboration in the broader Christian poverty alleviation ecosystem.
This role supports savings group (SG) and microfinance (MFI) partnership activities, oversees HOPE’s leadership of the Christian Economic Development (CED) network, and explores other strategic alliances to advance the mission of HOPE.

Salary range: $84,000-$90,000

Responsibilities- Promote and contribute to the fulfillment of HOPE International’s mission and vision
- Leadership & Management
- Manage the strategic alliances team. Set clear expectations, manage priorities, and guide the team toward shared goals with care for both people and outcomes.
- Steward team resources responsibly, contributing to strategic and budget planning while ensuring alignment with HOPE’s mission, values, and strategy.
- Model Christ-like servant leadership, fostering a team culture of care and holistic development through mentoring, coaching, intentional delegation, and regular one-on-one meetings.
- Provide regular, prayerful feedback that encourages growth, reinforces accountability, and builds on each person’s God-given strengths.
- Encourage and lead direct reports in ways that deepen their connection to HOPE’s mission and reveal how their work contributes to God’s Kingdom.
- Support HOPE network partnership strategy and activities
- Refine and maintain HOPE’s partnership guide and network-wide partnership criteria, in collaboration with HOPE’s Executive Council and other program leaders
- Ensure a clear approach for on-going listening and learning with current partners, liaising with the listening, monitoring & evaluation team to track partner satisfaction
- Envision opportunities for strengthening and growing the community of practice within the HOPE network of programs and partners
- Coordinate and promote lateral learning events and field visits by and to HOPE network members
- Lead CED Network
- Chair and convene the Christian Economic Development (CED) network steering committee ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).), leading the design and management of a CED network strategy that covers the hard costs associated with network activities
- Plan, schedule, and execute various network events in response to network feedback, including the spring CED summit, fall CED intensive at One Accord, webinars, or other learning events
- Explore a global CED strategy that includes regional gatherings (e.g. Asia, Latin America, Africa, Eastern Europe)
- Manage the team implementing the CED website, emails, and collateral
