Project Manager - Environmental Conservation

Our client, a leading environmental non-profit organization, is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to lead its conservation initiatives remotely, with a focus on projects impacting the Richards Bay region. This pivotal role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of various environmental projects, from inception to final reporting. You will coordinate with field teams, community stakeholders, and partner organizations to ensure conservation goals are met efficiently and effectively, regardless of geographical location.

• Plan, execute, and manage multiple environmental conservation projects from initiation to closure.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.

• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
• Ensure all project activities comply with environmental regulations and organizational standards.
• Prepare comprehensive project reports, documenting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned for internal and external stakeholders.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on environmental or conservation projects.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects remotely, demonstrating excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including community groups, government agencies, and scientific researchers.
• Solid understanding of environmental conservation principles and practices relevant to the Kwa Zulu-Natal region.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello, MS Project) and collaboration tools.
• A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Conservation Biology, or a related field.
