Position Summary The Branch Manager at John S. Connor directs and coordinates daily operations while providing vision and leadership to ensure the continuity and growth of the branch. This role oversees compliance with company policies, develops business strategies, manages staff, and fosters an environment of accountability, customer service excellence, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Provide leadership to ensure the company’s mission and core values are upheld
Develop and implement business strategies and pursue new business opportunities
Create and manage branch budgets with input from staff
Supervise employees and carry out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws Monitor shipments to ensure timely handling and customer satisfaction
Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve issues effectively
Coach and develop staff to foster professional growth and organizational success
Travel as needed to meet with customers or manage company business
Stay informed of industry changes affecting branch operations
Regularly review accounts receivables, monitor outstanding balances, and take action to ensure timely collection of funds
Promote a success-oriented and accountable workplace culture
Perform additional duties as assigned
Education
College degree or equivalent industry experience required
Experience
Customs Brokerage License required
Freight forwarding background required
Prior management experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or customs brokerage preferred
Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and related software
Strong leadership and staff development skills, including delegation, feedback, and coaching
Excellent communication skills, with ability to lead meetings and present effectively
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of industry trends and ability to translate insights into business strategy
Commitment to quality, accuracy, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards
