Senior Manager, Operations

Position Summary…The Sr. Manager, Operations – Forward Deploy Field Implementation will serve as the dedicated field-facing operational leader supporting stores throughout the Forward Deploy journey. This role acts as the primary connection between stores, Field leadership, and the Forward Deploy program team, ensuring locations are prepared for implementation, supported through go‑live, and successfully transitioned into sustainable operations.

Leads store-level implementation activities for assigned Forward Deploy locations by partnering directly with Store Managers, Market leadership, Field Operations, Realty, and Home Office teams. Coordinates store readiness activities, communicates expectations, identifies operational barriers, and ensures stores understand upcoming changes, timelines, and responsibilities.

About the team:

The team leads the Forward Deploy program, transforming Walmart stores into fulfillment centers to enhance delivery speed and customer experience. The Senior Manager, Operations, oversees strategy, planning, and execution across the US store network, coordinating site selection, procurement, process development, and rollout. Collaborating with Realty, Store Operations, Marketplace, Procurement, Product, Technology, and Field teams, the team drives integrated project management, operational efficiency, and cross‑functional leadership.

Their focus is on scaling operations effectively, ensuring successful program deployment, and fostering continuous improvement to meet business objectives and optimize performance.

• Direct and manage project work streams, ensuring timely execution and successful implementation of initiatives.
• Analyze data to provide insights, influence business decisions, and align strategies with organizational goals.
• Develop and improve operational tools, processes, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to drive business plans, remove obstacles, and meet performance metrics.
• Lead, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a high‑performing and accountable work environment.
• Manage budgets, approve expenditures, and implement contingency plans to address escalated issues.
• Promote compliance with company policies and uphold ethical standards in all operations.

• Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
• Experience driving business efficiency through process improvements, cost control, and innovative solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams, build partnerships, and influence stakeholders to achieve business goals.

• Ability to develop and implement performance standards, contingency plans, and operational tools to support business objectives.
