Mine Maintenance Manager

Our client seeks a proactive and experienced Mine Maintenance Manager to lead their maintenance department in the Bloemfontein region. This role is responsible for overseeing the upkeep and repair of all mining equipment and infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational availability. You will manage a diverse team of technicians and engineers, implement preventive maintenance programs, and control maintenance budgets. This is a key leadership position crucial to the sustained productivity of the mining operation in the Free State .

• Develop and implement comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance strategies for all mining equipment.
• Manage the maintenance team, including scheduling, performance management, and training.
• Oversee maintenance budgets, control costs, and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to maintenance activities.
• Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles to improve equipment lifespan.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in maintenance management within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
• Proven experience with large-scale mining equipment (e.g., haul trucks, excavators, crushers, conveyors).
• Strong knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
