Senior Golf Course Superintendent

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Golf Course Superintendent to remotely manage and oversee the maintenance and agronomy of a prestigious golf course located in the scenic region of Cape Town . This role requires a deep understanding of turfgrass management, irrigation systems, and pest control, with a focus on maintaining world-class playing conditions year-round. You will lead a team of groundskeepers, implement innovative maintenance strategies, and ensure environmental sustainability.

• Develop and execute comprehensive agronomic plans, including fertilization, pest and disease management, and irrigation strategies for optimal turf health.
• Oversee the daily operations of the maintenance team, providing leadership, training, and performance management remotely.
• Manage the maintenance budget effectively, controlling expenditures and seeking cost-efficient solutions for course upkeep.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and implement sustainable practices for water conservation and chemical usage.
• Utilize technology and remote monitoring systems to assess course conditions and guide on-site teams.
• Collaborate with golf professionals and club management to meet the aesthetic and playability standards of the course.

• Extensive experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or in a senior agronomy role.
• Proven expertise in turfgrass management, irrigation technology, and integrated pest management.
• Strong leadership and remote team management skills.
• Certification from a recognized turfgrass management association (e.g., GCSAA).
• Proficiency with agronomic software and remote collaboration tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.
