Retail Area Manager

Our client, a rapidly expanding retail group, is seeking a results-driven and strategic Retail Area Manager to oversee multiple store locations within the
** Bloemfontein, Free State, ZA
** region. This fully remote position allows you to manage your territory effectively from your home office while maintaining a strong presence through regular site visits. The Area Manager will be responsible for driving sales performance, operational excellence, and consistent brand standards across all assigned stores. This role requires a seasoned retail leader with a proven ability to mentor store managers, implement strategic initiatives, and achieve ambitious business objectives.

• Oversee the performance of multiple retail stores within a designated geographic area.
• Develop and implement regional strategies to drive sales growth, profitability, and market share.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and support to store managers to ensure operational excellence.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for each store and develop action plans to address performance gaps.
• Ensure consistent implementation of company policies, procedures, and visual merchandising standards.
• Conduct regular store visits and performance evaluations to identify areas for improvement and best practices.
• Manage operational budgets for the area, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.
• Recruit, train, and develop high-performing store management teams.
• Foster a customer-centric culture and ensure exceptional service delivery across all locations.
• Stay informed about local market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.

• A minimum of 6 years of retail management experience, with at least 3 years in an Area or Regional Management role.
• Demonstrated success in managing multiple retail locations and driving consistent sales performance.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, financial management, P&L statements, and KPI analysis.
• Exceptional leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans in a dynamic retail environment.
• Proficiency in retail management software and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to travel regularly within the

  ** region to visit stores.
• Self-motivated and disciplined, with the ability to work effectively in a remote capacity.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management or a related field is preferred.
