Senior Fleet Operations Manager; Remote

Our client, a rapidly expanding logistics and delivery provider, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Fleet Operations Manager to join their dynamic team. This is a pivotal, fully remote role that offers the opportunity to shape and scale operational strategies across a significant geographical area. You will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness of our client's extensive fleet.

• Develop and implement comprehensive fleet management strategies to optimize delivery routes, minimize transit times, and reduce operational costs.
• Oversee the daily operations of a large, geographically dispersed fleet, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Manage and mentor a team of remote dispatchers and fleet coordinators, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for fleet performance, driver productivity, and vehicle maintenance.
• Collaborate with procurement and maintenance teams to ensure all vehicles are properly maintained, compliant, and cost-effective.
• Utilize advanced logistics software and data analytics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and environmental standards across all operational areas.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with third-party logistics providers and key stakeholders.
• Manage incident response and emergency protocols for the fleet.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or a related transportation operations role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large fleets and distributed teams in a remote setting.
• In-depth knowledge of fleet management software, GPS tracking systems, and route optimization tools.
• Strong understanding of South African transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage remote staff effectively.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to translate insights into actionable operational changes.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with budget management and cost control within a logistics environment.
