Remote Fleet Operations Supervisor

Our client, a rapidly expanding logistics enterprise, is seeking an experienced Remote Fleet Operations Supervisor to oversee their fleet's daily operations. This critical role is designed for individuals who excel in managing complex logistical challenges from a distance. As a remote supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, safety, and compliance of our fleet operations, primarily focusing on the Centurion operational area and beyond.

You will leverage technology to monitor performance, manage drivers, and optimize resource allocation. This position demands strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of fleet management best practices in a virtual environment. • Supervise and manage the daily activities of a large fleet of delivery vehicles and drivers remotely.
• Monitor fleet performance, including on-time deliveries, fuel efficiency, and vehicle utilization, utilizing advanced telematics.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize route planning and reduce operational costs.
• Provide remote coaching, support, and performance feedback to drivers and dispatch teams.
• Address and resolve operational issues, emergencies, and customer complaints promptly and effectively.
• Collaborate with procurement and maintenance teams to ensure vehicle upkeep and readiness.
• Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
• Manage driver schedules, assignments, and adherence to working hours.
• Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the fleet operations.

• Extensive experience (5+ years) in fleet management, logistics supervision, or a related operational role.
• Proven ability to manage remote teams and operations effectively.
• Strong understanding of fleet management software, GPS tracking, and telematics systems.
• In-depth knowledge of South African transportation laws and safety regulations.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, particularly in a remote context.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent; experience with specific TMS platforms is highly desirable.
• Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and process optimization.
