As a subsidiary of Summit Utilities, Inc., Peaks benefits from a culture of excellence that continues to earn national and regional recognition as an employer of choice. These recognitions include Best Places to Work in Maine (2019–2025);

Being part of the Peaks team means embracing excellence and innovation. We are building a best-in-class platform and are looking for driven, entrepreneurial team members who are energized by the idea of helping scale a growing business.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Accounting & FP&A is responsible for institutionalizing and leading the accounting and financial planning and analysis function at Peaks Renewables. This position will build the processes, controls, and systems to facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting for Peaks’ portfolio of renewable natural gas (“RNG”) projects. The Director will own the production of GAAP-compliant financial statements and monthly close processes for Peaks’ project entities and the consolidated platform, help lead the implementation of SAP as Peaks’ new ERP system, and support regular budget-to-actual and reforecasting process.

The Director will serve as Peaks’ primary finance partner to Summit Utilities, Peaks’ parent company, ensuring that Peaks’ accounting, planning, and reporting are aligned with Summit’s corporate standards while reflecting the unregulated, project-based nature of the Peaks business.

This is a hands‑on build-and‑lead role: the Director will design the function, perform much of the work directly in its early stages, and scale the team and systems as the platform grows through development and acquisition. The Director must develop a deep understanding of the financial and commercial drivers of the RNG business, including environmental attribute markets, federal tax credit programs, and project finance, and translate operating performance into clear financial insight for Peaks and Summit leadership, lender partners, and other key stakeholders.
