Senior Impact Manager- Waste

Lead the design and execution of strategies that engage Waste sector stakeholders and use methane emissions data.

Carbon Mapper is a non-profit organization based in Pasadena, CA with the mission to drive greenhouse gas emission reductions by making methane and carbon dioxide data accessible and actionable. We leverage remote sensing technology to detect, pinpoint, and quantify methane and carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions at the scale of individual facilities. All of our methane and CO 2 data is made publicly available for non-commercial use on our Carbon Mapper Data Portal to provide decision makers with the information they need to prioritize and take mitigation action.

Carbon Mapper also works with stakeholders and decision makers to fill data gaps, lead on cutting edge science, collaborate to drive reductions, and advance education and insights on emissions globally. To do this, we work with partners to leverage a constellation of satellites. Data from these satellites will offer the next major step in scaling up the organization's robust data portal featuring thousands of direct observations of global methane and CO 2 super-emitters.

Carbon Mapper's Impact Team is seeking a Senior Impact Manager
- Waste Sector to lead the design and execution of strategies that engage sector stakeholders and use methane emissions data to accelerate mitigation, inform policy and program development, build capacity, and develop data-to-action partnerships.

Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the Senior Manager will deploy a wide range of approaches, from equipping landfill operators with the data they need to identify and address methane emissions to strengthening government monitoring and measurement programs. Internally, the Senior Manager will represent the needs of waste sector stakeholders, champion high-potential engagement opportunities, and partner with experts on the Science Team to develop sector goals and strategies.

Externally, they will support stakeholders and decision-makers in applying remote sensing emissions data to methane mitigation and management, and serve as a strategic leader within the broader waste management community.

This role calls for strong strategic thinking, deep waste sector expertise, skill in building trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders, and strong project management.

• In collaboration with the Science Team and the Vice President of Strategy and Impact, lead the development, execution, and refinement of the Impact Team's waste sector data-to-action strategies.
• Use the Impact Team's strategic levers (direct mitigation, policy and program development, capacity building, and data-to-action partnerships) to engage stakeholders and advance organizational objectives.
• Translate high-level strategic goals into a clear, actionable plan, including regional focus areas, stakeholder engagement priorities, measures of success, timelines, and budgets.
• Monitor the sector landscape, including regulatory developments, policy processes, and industry trends, to identify high-potential opportunities for Carbon Mapper's data and resources to drive measurable methane reductions.
• Pursue new opportunities, such as partnerships, data integrations, pilot projects, and funding, to expand the reach and impact of Carbon Mapper's work.

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of waste sector engagements and activities.
