Remote Civil Project Manager - Digital Infrastructure

Our client, a forward-thinking technology and infrastructure firm, is seeking a highly organized and experienced Remote Civil Project Manager to oversee the planning and execution of digital infrastructure projects. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project scope, budget, schedule, and resources, ensuring the successful deployment of critical digital networks and facilities.

This role demands strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of civil engineering principles applied to technology-focused developments. You will be instrumental in driving projects forward in a remote-first environment.

Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of civil infrastructure projects, focusing on digital deployment. Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including construction, engineering, IT, and external vendors, to ensure seamless project execution. Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement timely corrective actions. Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial objectives are met.

Facilitate clear and consistent communication among all project stakeholders through regular updates and virtual meetings. Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Prepare comprehensive project documentation, reports, and performance analyses. Leverage project management software and collaboration tools to maintain project momentum in a remote setting.

BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of project management experience, with a significant portion focused on civil or infrastructure projects. Proven experience in managing projects remotely, with excellent virtual collaboration skills. Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira). Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.

Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. Demonstrated experience in budget management and resource allocation. Understanding of the technical aspects of digital infrastructure deployment is a plus.
