Remote Solar PV Project Manager

Our client, a leader in renewable energy solutions, is looking for a dynamic and experienced Remote Solar PV Project Manager to join their expanding operations. This position is entirely remote, allowing you to manage exciting solar photovoltaic projects from the comfort of your own location within South Africa. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of solar PV installations, from initial planning and design through to construction, commissioning, and handover.

The role demands strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of solar technology, project finance, and regulatory compliance. • Oversee all phases of solar PV projects, including feasibility studies, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules, and manage resources effectively.
• Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, construction) and external stakeholders (suppliers, contractors, regulatory bodies).
• Ensure projects comply with all relevant safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations.
• Manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.
• Liaise with clients to ensure satisfaction and manage expectations.
• Conduct site visits and project reviews as necessary, adhering to safety protocols for remote work.
• Prepare project status reports and present findings to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and methodologies.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, specifically within the solar PV industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing solar PV projects from conception to completion.
• Strong understanding of solar PV technology, system design, and installation best practices.
• Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana).
• Excellent knowledge of project finance, contract management, and risk assessment.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote work environment.
