Logistics Operations Manager - Wine Region Specialist

Oversee all aspects of logistics operations for wine producers and distributors in the Stellenbosch, Western Cape area and beyond. Develop and implement efficient supply chain strategies to optimize inventory management, transportation, and warehousing. Manage and mentor a team of logistics coordinators and warehouse staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Negotiate and manage contracts with transportation carriers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and service reliability.

Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards, including temperature monitoring and proper handling of wine products. Liaise with clients (wineries, distributors) to understand their needs and provide exceptional service. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate regular reports on operational efficiency, costs, and service levels. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance overall supply chain performance. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, including export and import laws.

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a strong preference for experience within the wine or beverage industry. Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams. In-depth knowledge of wine logistics, including temperature-controlled transport, warehousing, and export procedures. Excellent understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and transportation modes.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders. Must be able to work effectively in a hybrid model, splitting time between remote work and on-site operational oversight in Stellenbosch, Western Cape .
