Fleet Operations Manager; Remote

Our client, a rapidly expanding logistics and distribution company, is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Fleet Operations Manager to oversee their entire fleet operations from a remote setting. • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company's vehicle fleet, ensuring efficient deployment and utilization.
• Develop and implement strategic fleet management policies and procedures to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
• Manage fleet maintenance schedules, ensuring all vehicles are serviced and repaired promptly to minimize downtime.
• Ensure strict adherence to all relevant road safety regulations, licensing, and compliance requirements for commercial vehicles operating in Gauteng

• Monitor fuel consumption, identify trends, and implement strategies for fuel efficiency.
• Manage relationships with vehicle leasing companies, maintenance providers, and other third-party vendors.
• Develop and manage the fleet operations budget, forecasting expenses and identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
• Implement and oversee driver management programs, including training, performance monitoring, and compliance checks.
• Utilize fleet management software to track vehicle location, performance, and maintenance records.
• Lead and mentor a team of fleet coordinators and drivers, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and accountability in a remote setting.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in fleet management, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Proven experience managing large and diverse vehicle fleets, including trucks and vans.
• In‑depth knowledge of fleet maintenance, repair, and operational best practices.
• Strong understanding of South African road transport regulations, licensing, and compliance.
• Proficiency in fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
