Fleet Operations Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Fleet Operations Manager to lead their transportation logistics from a fully remote, home-based position. This critical role will be responsible for managing and optimizing the entire fleet operation, ensuring efficiency, compliance, safety, and cost-effectiveness across all routes and vehicles. • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards.
• Manage fleet maintenance programs, including preventative maintenance schedules and repair coordination.
• Utilize fleet management software to track vehicle location, performance, fuel consumption, and driver behavior.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of fleet coordinators, dispatchers, and maintenance staff remotely.
• Analyze fleet data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and manage the fleet operational budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and driver training programs to minimize accidents and ensure driver well-being.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics, procurement, and sales, to ensure seamless integration of fleet operations.

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in fleet operations management, with a significant portion in a senior role.
• Proven experience managing large and diverse vehicle fleets.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations (e.g., DOT, HOS) and safety standards.
• Proficiency with advanced fleet management software and telematics systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage remote teams effectively.
• Experience in budget management and cost control.
