Quality Technician III - 1st Shift

Cadrex Manufacturing Solutions is seeking a Quality Technician III to support manufacturing practices through the development, evaluation, and continual improvement of processes using quality concepts, principles, and methodologies. The goal is to consistently meet or exceed customer expectations of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Release product for shipping by ensuring proper documentation/certifications are provided as outlined by customer requirements.
  • Understand and apply basic GD&T concepts.
  • Proficient in dimensional verification of PPAP and first article parts.
  • Provide direct support to the production floor by assisting with interpretation/development of manufacturing related documentation and teaching proper measuring techniques.
  • Provide technical inspection of manufactured and raw materials at “receiving” as outlined by the process.
  • Collect data, evaluate, and present quality metrics.
  • Program and operate FARO & Micro‑Vu measurement equipment proficiently.
  • Attend department meetings as required.
  • Prioritize work order tasks for QA lab.
  • Audit internal processes including dimensional workmanship and documentation verification.
  • Develop calibration procedures and provide calibration of measuring equipment as outlined by ISO standards.
  • Establish closed‑loop cause and corrective action in response to customer complaints and internal process failures.
  • Trained and efficient in all aspects of the position.
  • Work quickly, efficiently, and without quality issues.
  • Provide on‑the‑job training for new quality inspectors with daily responsibilities.
  • Support management through implementing and communicating ideas, projects, practices, and decision outcomes to the Quality team.
  • Suggest and complete Continuous Improvement Projects.
  • Guide, train and develop new hires in Quality Lab for all aspects of the position including work center tasks and quality tools.
  • Administer employee development training for the QA department.
  • Lead or participate in Quality Walk Audits in Work Center Areas.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement process and project improvements.
Requirements

5+ years working preferably in a metal fabrication environment under a continuous improvement QMS with hands‑on inspection or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple correspondence.
  • Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, e‑mail software and the use of the Internet.
  • Certification as a Quality Technician preferred.
  • Programming for FARO and Micro‑Vu Measurement Equipment desired.
Education
  • Associate degree in related field preferred.
Location
  • Onsite.
Schedule
  • M‑Th; 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
Work Environment
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration; occasional risk of electrical shock. Noise level usually moderate and occasionally loud.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, talk or hear, climb or balance; occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
