Logistics & Inventory Coordinator Role Overview
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics & Inventory Coordinator to manage the flow of lumber inventory from production through delivery. This role is central to ensuring smooth operations across production, warehousing, logistics, and documentation. The ideal candidate will be proactive, responsive, and capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
This position will work closely with production teams, suppliers, reload yards, trucking companies, customs brokers, and the sales team.
Core Responsibilities Inventory & Production Management- Monitor inventory being produced at mills and reman facilities
- Track production progress and reconcile against planned volumes
- Assign inventory to specific customer orders
- Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records
- Generate and distribute production run reports
- Coordinate with production partners to resolve discrepancies
- Create and manage Sales Orders and Purchase Orders
- Ensure order details are accurate (species, grade, size, length, quantities)
- Match inventory to orders efficiently and logically
- Update order status as production and shipping progresses
- Arrange outbound and inbound trucking
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with reload yards and mills
- Optimize trucking to reduce costs and delays
- Track shipment status and respond to logistics issues
- Confirm load details and ensure proper handling
- Prepare and verify cross-border documents, including:
- Commercial Invoices
- Packing Lists
- Certificates of Origin
- Softwood Lumber Declarations (if applicable)
- Customs paperwork
- Coordinate with customs brokers and freight forwarders
- Ensure compliance with Canadian and US import/export requirements
- Create and issue customer invoices
- Maintain accurate filing of logistics and production documents
- Generate daily / weekly production and shipping reports
- Provide inventory status updates to sales and management
- Monitor and respond to emails promptly
- Prioritize urgent requests related to production and shipments
- Maintain clear communication with internal teams and external partners
- Ensure no operational emails are left unresolved
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience in logistics, inventory management, or supply chain coordination (preferred)
- Familiarity with lumber industry or manufacturing operations is an asset
- Strong written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and order management systems
- Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure

This role plays a critical part in keeping our operations efficient, accurate, and on schedule. The Logistics & Inventory Coordinator ensures that inventory flows smoothly from production to customer, while maintaining proper documentation and communication throughout the process.
They are the backbone connecting production, logistics, and sales into a single coordinated system.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $5,000.00-$6,000.00 per month
