Position: CNC Miller / Horizontal Borer
Westray Recruitment Group is seeking a CNC Miller / Horizontal Borer on behalf of an established, family-owned engineering business providing precision machining, fitting and assembly, balancing, shot blasting and painting, pressure testing and associated engineering services to customers across a range of demanding industries.

Following recent investment in new plant machinery and facility upgrades, they are now seeking to expand their team within a clean, modern, and supportive working environment.

THE ROLE
 
Produce a wide range of precision parts from billets, fabrications, castings, and forgings.
Set, program, and operate key high-capacity machinery including:
Ward Hyundai Wia KBN
135-CL (2m x 1.8m table, 4m x 2m x 2m travel, 15-tonne table capacity, Fanuc CNC Control, 90° angled/orthogonal/facing heads, B-axis table 0.001°, ATC).
Hartford PBM
135C boring and milling machine (3000mm x 2000mm x 2000mm, 15-tonne table loading, FANUC 31iMB CNC control system).
Set one-off jobs efficiently and accurately.
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
Carry out precise manual measurements for dimensions and surface finishes to ensure strict quality standards.
Maintain a careful approach to quality and take responsibility for high-value customer components.  THE PERSON
 
Time-served via a recognised Machine Shop apprenticeship.
Proven experience operating milling machines or horizontal borers.
Strong CNC programming skills (FANUC control experience is essential).
Proficient in reading engineering drawings and using manual measurement equipment.
