About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organized and analytical Production Planner and Scheduler to join their team remotely, supporting operations that include their Bloemfontein facility. This role is essential for ensuring efficient production flow by creating and managing detailed production schedules. You will be responsible for coordinating with various departments to forecast demand, manage inventory, and optimize production timelines to meet customer orders while minimizing costs and lead times.
This position requires strong planning skills and the ability to manage complex scheduling challenges from a remote setting.
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules, balancing demand with production capacity and material availability.
- Collaborate with sales, procurement, and production teams to gather necessary information for accurate planning.
- Monitor inventory levels for raw materials and finished goods, ensuring adequate stock to meet production needs.
- Identify potential production constraints or risks and develop contingency plans.
- Utilize ERP systems and planning software to optimize schedules and track progress.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improving planning processes.
- Proven experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and production workflows.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced planning and scheduling (APS) software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a remote setting.
- A relevant qualification in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Business is advantageous.
