About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Production Planner to join their dynamic team in Sandton. This hybrid role is responsible for creating and managing production schedules to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing of products while optimizing resource utilization. You will work closely with sales, procurement, and production teams to forecast demand, plan production runs, and resolve any scheduling conflicts. Your ability to balance operational needs with customer demands will be key to success.
This position offers a blend of on-site collaboration and the flexibility of remote work for planning and reporting tasks. Your analytical skills and understanding of manufacturing processes will be crucial.
- Develop and maintain accurate production schedules based on demand forecasts and resource availability.
- Collaborate with sales and procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines and address disruptions.
- Identify and implement improvements to the production planning process.
- Analyze production data to forecast future needs and optimize capacity planning.
- Communicate production schedules and any changes to relevant departments.
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems and planning software.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
