We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business for an experienced Production Engineer to join their engineering team in Dartford. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive engineer who enjoys driving continuous improvement, solving technical challenges, and making a tangible impact on manufacturing performance. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will provide technical support across manufacturing operations, improve processes, and help deliver key operational objectives relating to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People (SQDCP).

The Role As Production Engineer, you will take ownership of production engineering activities within your area, ensuring manufacturing processes operate safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You'll play a key role in improving existing processes, supporting new product introduction, and implementing engineering solutions that enhance operational performance.

Key Responsibilities Support and improve manufacturing processes to maximise efficiency, quality and safety. Take ownership of production KPIs and drive improvements across operational performance measures. Investigate manufacturing and engineering issues using root cause analysis, Six Sigma methodologies and structured problem-solving techniques. Design and implement new systems, processes and manufacturing methods to support business growth and continuous improvement. Support the introduction of new products and equipment into production environments.

Design and develop tooling and fixtures, using 2D and 3D CAD, to support assembly and manufacturing operations. Create, review and update work instructions and standard operating procedures, ensuring best practices are maintained. Support maintenance activities and equipment reliability initiatives, including TPM programmes. Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing technical knowledge and best practice. About You You will have a strong manufacturing engineering background and a proven track record of improving processes within a production environment.

You will be an analytical and hands-on individual who enjoys identifying opportunities, implementing solutions and working collaboratively with colleagues across the business. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and a HNC/Degree level qualification is also required. What's on Offer?
