RoleSummary:
The Senior Enterprise Architect provides architecture leadership across the full Enterprise Engineering Platforms organization, including Engineering Experience, Cloud Delivery and Engineering, Data Engineering, Cloud Forge Platform, Enterprise AI Backbone enablement, and the GDS Night Shift program. The role establishes target-state direction across these interconnected capabilities and ensures that portfolio decisions converge on coherent, reusable enterprise platforms.
This architect serves as the senior technical partner to the Enterprise Engineering Platforms organization leader and represents the organization in enterprise architecture, AI governance, security, data, and cross-business technology decisions. The role operates beyond any single product or director organization, resolving cross-portfolio concerns and translating enterprise strategy into executable architecture direction.
Key Responsibilities:- Define and maintain the target-state architecture, principles, roadmaps, and decision framework for Enterprise Engineering Platforms and its major cross-organizational capabilities.
- Provide architecture leadership for Enterprise AI Backbone and GDS Night Shift, including governed agent runtimes, gateways, registries, identity and access, observability, context and data access, evaluation, security, and production operating patterns.
- Connect software delivery, public cloud, container runtimes, integration runtimes, engineering experience, data products, and AI capabilities into a coherent engineering platform, Cloud Forge, serving both human and machine experiences.
- Identify cross-portfolio dependencies, resolve conflicting architecture direction, and drive decisions that optimize enterprise outcomes rather than individual products.
- Establish reusable patterns and guardrails that accelerate adoption while meeting security, resiliency, compliance, data, and operational requirements.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture, GCS, business technology organizations, Product, Engineering, and strategic vendors to align investments and implementation direction.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and build-versus-buy options through focused experimentation, measurable outcomes, and explicit risk and economic tradeoffs.
- Guide architecture governance and ensure significant decisions are documented, communicated, and translated into funded roadmaps and engineering deliverables.
- Coach portfolio architects, solution engineers, and technical leaders, increasing architecture capability and reducing dependency…
