Senior Operations Manager, Manufacturing

Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialized industrial components, is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to oversee their production facilities in Klerksdorp. This role involves a hybrid work model, requiring consistent on-site engagement with opportunities for remote work flexibility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production planning, quality control, supply chain management, and team leadership.

• Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production flow and adherence to schedules.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to improve production output, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage production teams, providing leadership, training, and performance management.
• Implement and maintain quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards) to ensure product integrity.
• Optimize supply chain and inventory management processes to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Lean Manufacturing.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the manufacturing facility.
• Manage departmental budgets and control operational expenditures.
• Collaborate with engineering and product development teams on new product introductions and process enhancements.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on operational performance to senior management.

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations management, with a focus on production leadership.
• Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control manufacturing costs.
• Strong understanding of quality control systems and health & safety regulations in an industrial setting.
• Excellent leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
• Experience working in a hybrid role, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities effectively.
• Proficiency in relevant manufacturing software (e.g., ERP, MES).
• Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
