Industrial Engineer - Process Improvement Specialist

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in the Mossel Bay, Western Cape region, is looking for a dedicated Industrial Engineer to spearhead process improvement initiatives. This role is vital for analyzing current manufacturing and operational processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing robust solutions to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a strong grounding in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, with a passion for continuous improvement.

• Lead the identification, analysis, and implementation of process improvement projects across manufacturing and operational areas.
• Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events, 5S, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistency and quality.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to identify trends, measure performance, and support decision-making.
• Collaborate with production teams, quality assurance, and management to implement and sustain process improvements.
• Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of implemented changes.
• Train and mentor operational staff on new processes, methodologies, and best practices.
• Contribute to the design of efficient production layouts and material flow strategies.
• Stay updated on the latest industrial engineering techniques and technologies.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a proven track record in process improvement.
• Strong knowledge and practical application of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles (certification preferred).
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, Excel).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to effectively engage with all levels of staff.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setup, managing time and priorities independently.
• Proximity to or willingness to commute to Mossel Bay, Western Cape.
