Digital Advertising Director – Remote (Eastern Standard Time)
Join Break Something as a Digital Advertising Director and help shape the future of paid media across political, ballot and non‑profit campaigns.
About Break SomethingBreak Something is an all‑screen media agency with a digital focus. Our work spans everything from competitive House, Senate, and governor races to ballot measures and non‑profits. We seek someone who gets excited about testing new tactics, optimizing toward ambitious goals, and building a team that does their best work.
The RoleWe need a Digital Advertising Director to lead a team that sets the standard for how Break Something runs paid media campaigns. You’ll manage advertising strategists while running several high‑stakes client campaigns. This isn’t just about execution— you’ll stay ahead of new platforms, techniques, tools, and AI innovations, deciding what to adopt and what to ignore.
What You’ll Do- Lead the team: manage day‑to‑day work, mentor strategists, provide strategic direction and creative guidance, and keep the team ready to leverage new platforms and tools.
- Run campaigns: act as project manager for high‑stakes clients, develop media strategies, create targeting plans, work with creatives to test concepts, optimize performance, and report results.
- Set standards: ensure consistent excellence across all clients, including quality assurance on creative implementation, accurate tracking and reporting, budget management, invoicing, and coordination with our data team.
- Pushing innovation: evaluate new opportunities, troubleshoot underperforming campaigns, scale successes, and teach the team how to replicate effective tactics.
You are highly creative and know how to build campaigns that engage target audiences and hit KPIs. You have deep platform expertise in Meta, Google Ads, and at least one DSP or other programmatic or managed service vendor. You are comfortable with marketing research, statistical analysis, and media budget management. You have managed teams, balancing hands‑on support with strategic leadership. You are self‑motivated, client‑focused, and solution‑oriented, always fixing problems and pursuing opportunities.
Most importantly, you are an expert in persuasion or performance advertising—ideally both—and can teach others to run effective campaigns.
