The City seeks a creative and motivated part‑time Marketing & Media Content Specialist to support business development, small business engagement, cultural audience development, and visitor promotion initiatives. This role will be responsible for developing digital content that engages audiences worldwide and brands Bellevue as a vibrant destination for businesses, workers and visitors.
This position will work up to 25 hours per week, reporting to the Creative Economy Manager while supporting the full Cultural & Economic Development division. This role will work closely with the department’s Public Information Officer (PIO) and organization‑wide Communications Team.
Marketing & Communications- Grow and cultivate local and international audiences that support Bellevue’s diverse economic development activities.
- Create and manage engaging content (social media posts, photography, short‑form videos) to promote CED programs and projects.
- Develop and deploy promotional materials that highlight Bellevue’s businesses, business districts and cultural assets.
- Manage the division’s electronic newsletters and social media channels in partnership with division SMEs and PIO.
- Monitor audience reception and provide regular reports on engagement metrics.
- Work with CED team members to support the Communications team in drafting news releases and impactful media pitches.
- Work with economic development partners to increase awareness of conventions, festivals, and local activities that attract visitors.
- Coordinate across departments to capture media content (photos, videos, live updates) at public events.
- Highlight Bellevue’s businesses, attractions, and cultural assets through compelling storytelling campaigns.
- Maintain a content calendar and project management tracking for marketing activities as part of the City’s larger communications strategy.
- Respond to inquiries and comments on digital platforms, ensuring timely and professional communication that aligns with Bellevue’s overall brand presence.
- Assist the city’s Communications team and department public information officer with announcements and web updates for economic development programs.
- Support budget tracking for marketing campaigns.
- Assist in compiling performance reports and analytics.
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, Film, Media, Art, Journalism, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of professional experience in content creation, social media management, or marketing. Business development or tourism experience a plus.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills that engage an international audience.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (ex: Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software.
- Familiarity with web CMS platforms and social media scheduling tools.
- Photography and videography skills are strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, or Vietnamese is highly desirable.
- Part‑time, 20–25 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend work to support events.
- Position is fully funded through December 31, 2026, continuation into 2027 is dependent on budget availability.
