Industry Planner – BFSI (Banking, Financial Services) – Global

The Industry Planner for BFSI (Banking, Financial Services) is responsible for developing and executing the global marketing strategy for the assigned industry within Siemens Digital Industries. This individual is directly accountable for achieving the expected outcomes in their assigned industry. This role owns end‑to‑end industry planning, including segmentation, annual go‑to‑market strategy, budget management, and performance analysis. The Industry Planner operates as a strategic leader within a matrixed environment, collaborating closely with Sales, Strategy, Product, and global and regional marketing teams to deliver measurable pipeline impact.

Key Responsibilities Industry Strategy & Planning
  • Develop and manage the annual marketing strategy and plan for the assigned industry, ensuring alignment with business priorities and sales objectives.
  • Define segmentation, levers Integrated Country Plans, value propositions, and program‑level goals to guide global and regional activation.
  • Maintain planning discipline through clear KPIs, performance expectations, and structured operating cadences.
Budget Management
  • Own the industry‑level marketing budget, including annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and ongoing spend tracking.
  • Evaluate investment strategies and ensure budget allocations support pipeline and revenue objectives.
  • Monitor consumption, identify variances, and adjust plans to optimize return on investment.
Program Execution & Performance Optimization
  • Lead cross‑functional coordination to ensure timely delivery of marketing programs in line with agreed SLAs.
  • Monitor performance across the demand waterfall, assessing pipeline volume, progression, and conversion metrics.
  • Recommend data‑driven optimizations to improve marketing effectiveness and business outcomes.
  • Ensure global strategy is effectively localized through ongoing engagement with regional teams.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with selected Sales leadership teams to ensure alignment on enablement needs, priorities, and market opportunities.
  • Partner with global and regional demand teams, product marketing, and strategy leads to deliver integrated execution.
  • Provide stakeholders with clear updates on industry plans, KPIs, progress, and risks.
Stakeholder Communication & Industry Expertise
  • Present plans, insights, and performance updates to senior leaders in a concise and compelling manner.
  • Serve as the industry subject matter expert, providing insights on trends, competitive dynamics, and strategic opportunities.
  • Maintain strong alignment across matrixed teams to support coordinated execution and shared business outcomes.
Qualifications Required
  • Demonstrated success in strategic B2B marketing in global or complex environments.
  • Strong planning and analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategy.
  • Experience managing marketing budgets, including planning, forecasting, and tracking.
  • High degree of cross‑functional influence and collaboration in matrixed organizations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including senior stakeholder engagement.
  • Deep understanding of the B2B buyer journey and demand generation tactics.
  • Experience using recognized demand frameworks such as the Forrester Demand Waterfall.
  • Experience in the SaaS B2B software world.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in the assigned industry.
  • Proven ability to develop differentiated go‑to‑market strategies and messaging.
  • Strong understanding of industry market dynamics and their implications for marketing strategy.
