About Co-Hive

Co-Hive is a Sydney-based organisation empowering young adults aged 17–35 with disability, neurodiversity, and low support needs to achieve award-wage open employment, build independence and advocacy, and develop strong social connections.

Founded by an experienced leader in special education with deep expertise in post-school transitions, Co-Hive exists because too many young adults with low support needs disability were leaving school without successful pathways into employment, further education, or meaningful community life.

In just two years, we’ve achieved:

  • National Award Winner:
Best New Disability Business in Australia (2024)

  • National Award Finalist:
Best Disability Employment Pathways Program in Australia (2025)

  • 2 hubs (both located in Alexandria)

  • 15 full-time staff and contractors, supported by a highly skilled offshore team

  • 140+ participants attending each week

More importantly, Co-Hive has built something rare and deeply needed - a genuine community. We have supported hundreds of young adults and their families to move from uncertainty to confidence, from limited options to real pathways, and from isolation to belonging. For many families, Co-Hive has restored hope for a future their young person can feel proud of - one grounded in purpose, independence, contribution, and meaningful success.

About the Role

As Co-Hive continues to grow and expand into new communities, we are appointing a Marketing & Communications Lead to strengthen how we share our story, impact, and values.

This is a senior lead role working within a strong, collaborative leadership team. You will partner closely with the Community Engagement Manager, CEO, and wider team to shape and deliver marketing and communications that are clear, engaging, and outcomes-focused.

You will lead and manage Co-Hive’s Social Media & Communications Team, primarily based offshore. This requires flexible working hours, strong planning, and excellent communication to ensure content is accurate, timely, and grounded in real activity across Co-Hive.

This role suits someone who can move quickly, think creatively, and work strategically, translating complex work into clear, compelling messaging across digital and print platforms.

Key Responsibility Areas:

1. Brand, Storytelling & Creative Direction

  • Lead storytelling that clearly communicates Co-Hive’s values, impact, and community across online and print platforms.

  • Develop creative narratives that bring programs, participants, and outcomes to life in authentic and respectful ways.

  • Ensure all communications are consistent, accessible, and aligned with Co-Hive’s voice as we expand into new communities.

2. Digital Strategy, Social Media & Campaigns

  • Lead social media and digital strategy with a strong focus on storytelling, audience engagement, and growth.

  • Deliver campaigns that build awareness, increase engagement, and support enrolments and community partnerships.

  • Stay across online trends and audience behaviour to ensure messaging remains relevant and effective.

3. Team Leadership & Systems

  • Lead and support the Social Media & Communications Team, including offshore staff, through clear workflows and collaboration.

  • Provide timely feedback, quality oversight, and strong communication across time zones.

  • Build simple, effective systems that support creativity, consistency, and responsiveness.
