Role DescriptionElevation Marketing is looking for a Sr. Director of Client Development
. This is a full-time on-site role (with two work-from-home days a month or four half-days) located in the greater Phoenix area.
As part of the agency’s sales and marketing team, the Sr. Director of Client Development will be responsible for new business development, client development, and sales to drive business growth and cultivate strong new client relationships.
Our most successful candidates are former agency owners or operators or who no-longer want the responsibility of running an agency but enjoy the simplicity of business development. Other candidates who can fit properly into our culture are those who have a demonstrated track record developing new business inside a full-service digital, marketing or advertising agency working with larger clients.
Key Qualifications- New Business Development and Sales skills in the marketing or advertising space.
- Experience working in a full service advertising, marketing or digital agency.
- Strategic marketing experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Direct experience closing new business accounts for advertising, marketing or digital agencies with enterprise clients at $50MM in revenue to 100B+ in revenue.
- Broad understanding of full service marketing agency offering including research, branding, strategy, digital, creative, PR, social, etc.
- Experience building proposals and presentations to present to clients.
- Ability to have deep business and marketing conversations (and bring value) at the VP and CMO levels of large organizations.
- Experience taking a lead from an initial conversation all the way through the sales funnel to close in the advertising, digital or advertising agency space.
- Advertising sales skills or Marketing Services Sales Skills.
- Strong knowledge of both traditional and digital marketing techniques.
- Solid strategic selling techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
- Demonstrated success in closing new business, meeting objectives, and staying power inside an agency.
- Follow up on a robust number of inbound leads that the agency drives through its own organic and paid digital marketing practice.
- Prospect on your own when you have the chance to extend your pipeline.
- Create and nurture relationships through phone calls, emails, face-to-face meetings, and other networking techniques.
- Connect with prospects until they are willing to engage in a conversation where you can bring knowledge of marketing in a consultative way to the table.
- Ask probing question, present possible solutions, help shape a program/project, so it brings value to the prospect.
- Present Elevation’s capabilities presentation when needed.
- Build proposals and pitch new business.
- Close new business that has been pitched.
- Transition new clients to account services team.
- Work with key agency executives to help build relationships and pitch business.
- Target prospects who meet the agency’s ideal client profile; walk away from prospects at any time during the process that are not good matches for Elevation.
- Hit new business goals as mutually set forth by leadership.
- Balance the need for individual and team success with the expense and opportunity costs associated with running an active agency.
- Track relationships and activity in CRM.
