high-growth FMCG business on the search for a commercially driven Brand Manager
We are seeking a commercially driven Brand & Category Manager to join our UK & Ireland marketing team. This role combines classic brand management with hands‑on category management. You will drive brand growth through category insights, effective retailer engagement, and full ownership of the new product development (NPD) process from ideation to launch.
You will manage multiple brands within the portfolio, overseeing activities ranging from social media and agency management to retailer range reviews and commercial recommendations. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on established category‑leading brands while shaping their future growth.
Key Responsibilities Category Management & Retailer Engagement- Lead category analysis for key retailers, producing category reviews, range recommendations, and retailer presentations.
- Analyse market data (e.g., syndicated market data and retailer EPOS) and competitor activity to identify growth drivers, risks, market trends, and innovation opportunities.
- Deliver monthly dashboards for the UK & Ireland, providing insights and analysis to support business decision‑making.
- Partner with the sales team to secure new listings, optimise ranges, and increase shelf presence.
- Own the full NPD process from ideation to launch, following the organisation’s internal stage‑gate process.
- Translate consumer and category insights into innovation concepts aligned with brand positioning.
- Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams (R&D, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Sales) to deliver NPD on time, within budget, and to brief.
- Lead packaging design, claims, and messaging to ensure strong consumer appeal and retailer acceptance.
- Support the Marketing Manager in developing and executing annual brand plans, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- Manage social media strategy and oversee content creation with agencies, ensuring consistency with global platforms while tailoring for local market relevance.
- Collaborate with creative, social, e‑commerce, and retail media agencies to deliver marketing campaigns and engaging content.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on brand performance KPIs to track success and optimise ROI.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency of brand assets across all touchpoints, including websites, online retail platforms, and in‑store materials.
- Lead relationships with external agencies, ensuring outputs are on brand, on time, and within budget.
- Manage marketing budgets, including raising purchase orders, tracking spend, and reconciling costs.
- 3–5 years’ experience in FMCG brand marketing and/or category management.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using syndicated market data tools, with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Proven track record in managing NPD projects from concept to launch.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to engage both internal stakeholders and retail partners.
- Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Strong project management and follow‑through skills.
- Good knowledge of digital, social, and e‑commerce marketing.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Work on established, category‑leading brands with strong market positions.
- Play a central role in shaping innovation within the health and wellness category.
