As our Social Media Manager, you’ll lead the next chapter of that journey, transforming how one of the UK’s leading retail brands shows up across platforms including Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook and beyond. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a high‑profile social strategy m reactive, trend‑led content and creator partnerships to integrated campaigns that drive real engagement, you’ll shape content that sparks conversation, builds advocacy and keeps Screwfix culturally relevant in an ever‑evolving digital landscape.

Reporting to the Head of Brand, Comms & Creative, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of Screwfix’s social presence across the UK & Ireland. You’ll share responsibilities across strategy, content direction and day‑to‑day delivery, while having the autonomy to bring fresh ideas, challenge convention and lead bold, social‑first thinking across the brand. You’ll also own relationships with key agency partners across social, creative and PR, working closely with leading agencies including Fabric Social, M&C Saatchi and McCann to deliver standout campaigns and content.

Key Responsibilities
  • Play a key role in the development and execution of Screwfix’s organic social media strategy alongside the Head of Brand, Comms & Creative, aligned to wider business, brand and customer objectives.
  • Own and evolve the social content strategy across key channels including Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook, You Tube, and other emerging platforms.
  • Create and deliver engaging, platform‑native content that brings the Screwfix brand to life and strengthens customer connection.
  • Drive innovation and identify new opportunities to grow audience reach, engagement and brand relevance through reactive, trend‑led and social‑first content.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of the social content calendar, ensuring alignment with brand campaigns, commercial priorities and seasonal moments.
  • Partner closely with PR, Campaigns, Brand, Digital and commercial teams to develop integrated campaigns with strong social amplification.
  • Use data, insights and performance metrics to continuously optimise content, channel performance and audience engagement.
  • Manage and develop agency relationships, influencer partnerships and creator collaborations to maximise campaign effectiveness and reach.
  • Present social strategies, campaign performance and recommendations to senior stakeholders, confidently influencing decision making and future investment.
  • Lead, coach and develop the social media team, creating a high‑performance culture focused on collaboration, growth, creativity and accountability.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Significant experience developing and leading organic social media strategy within a retail, consumer or agency environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering high‑performing social content and driving measurable audience growth, engagement and brand impact.
  • Strong understanding of social platforms, content formats, creator partnerships and evolving digital culture.
  • Experience leading and developing teams, creating an environment where people feel empowered, supported and motivated to perform at their best.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance creativity, brand impact and business performance.
  • Experience managing agencies, budgets and multiple stakeholders across a fast‑paced organisation.
