Description

As one of the UK’s top motor insurers, Somerset Bridge Group is on an exciting journey to strengthen how we present our brand externally—bringing our culture, people and ambition to life in a more consistent and engaging way. We’re looking for a graduate intern with a passion for marketing, social media or employer branding to support the planning, creation and performance analysis of content on our company Linked In page.

This is a hands‑on opportunity to gain real‑world experience shaping how a growing business tells its story, builds its brand and engages the talent we want to attract.

What you’ll be responsible for:

You’ll play a key role in managing and improving our Linked In presence, with responsibility across the full content lifecycle:

Research & insight

  • Research Linked In and social media best practice (content formats, tone, timing, algorithms)
  • Analyse how competitors and leading brands showcase their culture and employer brand
  • Identify trends and opportunities to improve engagement with our target audiences

Content planning & creation

  • Build upon and refine our existing Linked In content plan and calendar
  • Create and draft posts (e.g. employee stories, culture highlights, industry insights)
  • Ensure content reflects our employer brand, values and tone of voice

Posting & channel management

  • Schedule content on the SBG Linked In page
  • Work with stakeholders to gather inputs, stories and approval for posts
  • Ensure posts align with internal social media policy and brand guidelines

Performance tracking & optimisation

  • Monitor post performance (engagement, reach, clicks, etc.)
  • Produce simple reports and insights on what’s working and what isn’t
  • Recommend improvements and test new approaches to increase engagement
We'd love to hear from you if you:
  • Are a recent graduate (or about to graduate) in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field
  • Have a strong interest in social media, branding or content creation
  • Have excellent written communication skills and can write clearly and engagingly
  • Are curious and data‑driven—comfortable reviewing performance and turning insight into action
  • Are organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Bring ideas and aren’t afraid to suggest new ways of doing things
Bonus (but not essential):
  • Experience managing social media accounts (personal, academic or professional)
  • Basic understanding of Linked In analytics or social media tools
  • Confidence using tools like PowerPoint and Copilot
What you’ll get
  • Hands‑on experience managing a live corporate Linked In channel
  • Exposure to employer branding and People Experience strategy
  • Experience reporting directly to the Extended Leadership Team and engaging with stakeholders from a wide variety of roles and levels
  • The opportunity to influence how a growing business presents itself externally
  • A supportive team and the chance to build skills that are highly valued in marketing and communications
Our Benefits
  • Hybrid working – 2 days in the office (Mon & Thur) and 2 days working from home
  • 25 days annual leave, rising to 27 days over 2 years’ service and 30 days after 5 years’ service. Plus bank holidays!
