Summary

The legal industry is in the middle of its most consequential technology shift in a generation. Generative AI is rewriting how lawyers research, draft, and advise, and the firms that get this right will define the next decade of legal practice. This role leads the content engine behind our strategy for the Legal Professionals business, sets the editorial agenda, shapes the market’s perception of the future of legal work, and builds the content programs that drive demand for CoCounsel, Westlaw, Practical Law, HighQ, and Noetica.

About

the Role
  • Define editorial strategy for the Legal Professionals portfolio, grounded in deep customer understanding, commercial priorities and a clear competitive read.
  • Develop original content programs: flagship research franchises, expert analysis, multi‑format reports, video and audio series, executive bylines, and customer storytelling.
  • Create content that drives pipeline: organic search and SEO, demand generation content for nurture and conversion, sales enablement, and integrated content for launches and campaigns.
  • Manage the content operating model: editorial calendar, production workflows, distribution across paid, owned, earned, and partner channels, and the measurement framework that ties content to business outcomes.
  • Lead a high‑performing team of content leaders, writers, and producers, extending via relationships with internal studio, agency, and contributor network.
Outcomes to Drive in Year One
  • Deliver a defined editorial point of view recognized in the market, measured through share of voice.
  • Achieve measurable lift in organic traffic and content‑influenced pipeline across the Legal Professionals portfolio.
  • Build a scalable content team and operating model, including a clear bar for AI‑assisted production that protects voice, accuracy, and authority.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years in content strategy and editorial leadership at a B2B SaaS, professional services, or media company, with 3+ years leading and scaling a team.
  • Track record of building original content programs that moved a market, not just produced volume; can point to specific franchises and their business impact.
  • Strong editorial judgment; can read a draft, identify issues, and rewrite the lede when needed.
  • Fluency with AI content tools and a clear point of view on their use without flattening voice or eroding accuracy.
  • Comfort working with senior executives, including extracting their points of view, ghost‑writing at their level, and pushing back when necessary.
  • Fluency with content performance data and marketing analytics; can manage numbers without losing the craft.
  • Familiarity with the modern content stack: CMS, content operations platforms (Workfront, Contently, Writer), SEO and analytics tools, and AI‑assisted production.
  • Experience in legal, regulated, or professional services markets is a strong plus; otherwise, a proven ability to move into a complex vertical quickly.
Benefits
  • Flexibility & Work‑Life Balance:
Flex My Way policies, flexible work arrangements, work from anywhere up to 8 weeks per year.
  • Career Development and Growth:
Grow My Way programming, skills‑first approach.
  • Industry Competitive Benefits: comprehensive benefit plans, flexible vacation, two company‑wide mental health days off, Headspace app access, retirement savings, tuition reimbursement, employee incentive programs, resources for mental, physical, and financial wellbeing.
  • Culture: globally recognized, award‑winning reputation for inclusion and belonging, flexibility, work‑life balance; values include Obsess over our Customers, Compete to Win, Challenge (Y) our Thinking, Act Fast / Learn Fast, and Stronger Together.
  • Social Impact: two paid volunteer days per year, pro‑bono consulting projects, ESG initiatives.
  • Making a Real‑World Impact: help uphold the rule of law, turn the wheels of commerce, catch bad actors, report facts, and provide trusted, unbiased information worldwide.
