Reporting to the Director of Communications, Public Affairs, and Linguistic Services, the Communications Coordinator plays a key role in supporting CAPE’s communications activities and ensuring members receive clear, accurate, and timely information. As a member of the Communications Team, the Coordinator works collaboratively across the organization to plan, produce, and coordinate communications products and initiatives that strengthen CAPE’s visibility and connection with its membership.
In this role you will develop and deliver a wide range of communications outputs including written content, web and email updates via Action Network, member notices, briefing materials, and promotional collateral for campaigns and events. You will coordinate timelines, support cross‑team workflows, and ensure that all materials align with CAPE’s strategic priorities, messaging, visual identity, and commitment to accessibility in both official languages.
You will also assist with preparing and scheduling online content, monitoring member engagement, and supporting the maintenance of CAPE’s website and digital channels, as well as providing planning support for major national initiatives such as the Annual General Meeting.
Key Responsibilities 1. Digital Content and Copywriting- Develop, write, and edit bilingual (English/ French) digital content for email campaigns, web pages, social media, and online publications.
- Ensure all content is clear, accurate, engaging, and aligned with CAPE’s brand and strategic objectives.
- Translate complex or technical information into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- Manage CAPE’s member email program end‑to‑end, including drafting, formatting, scheduling, sending, and logging campaigns in Action Network.
- Coordinate with internal contributors to ensure content is reviewed, bilingual, complete, and compliant with CAPE standards.
- Maintain the email planner and tracker to ensure timely approvals and scheduling.
- Monitor delivery, engagement, and performance metrics to support reporting and continuous improvement.
- Update, maintain, and enhance CAPE’s bilingual website using Drupal (or another CMS), ensuring accuracy, usability, and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Coordinate updates with internal teams to keep web content current and relevant.
- Support improvements to website structure, layout, navigation, SEO, tagging, and metadata to optimize discoverability and member experience.
- Coordinate digital communications projects, maintaining timelines, production schedules, and task lists.
- Use project‑tracking tools to record progress, manage deadlines, and support reporting to leadership.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure deliverables are completed on time and on brand.
- Work collaboratively across all teams to support integrated campaigns, corporate communications, events, and member engagement initiatives.
- Provide advice on digital tools and document formatting.
- Track analytics and performance indicators for email, website, and social media channels.
- Use data insights to refine strategies, improve reach, and strengthen member engagement.
- Stay informed on trends in digital communications and online advocacy to support continuous improvement.
