Working pattern: Hybrid - minimum of two days per week in the office; up to three days per week working from home

General Summary

Are you a hyper-organised book lover with an interest in marketing, creating content and an eye for design?

Bonnier Books UK is looking for a creative marketing assistant to join the Adult Trade division, working primarily across literary fiction releases and our lifestyle non-fiction list. In this role, you will plan and execute your own marketing campaigns, you will build meaningful partnerships with booksellers and bookshops, and grow our online influencer and consumer facing communities.

You will have a real passion for literary fiction, knowing the hottest new releases in genre and what’s top of the cultural conversation agenda. You will know how to dissect a book to pull out the key connecting themes; you will have a passion for creating meaningful content, whether that’s short or long-form. You will have demonstrable experience in direct-to-consumer marketing and be passionate about bringing creative marketing campaigns to life.

We are looking for a marketing assistant who is able to thrive in a fast-paced environment as a team player, with strong communication and organisation skills.

Key responsibilities
  • Deliver consumer-first, creative marketing campaigns, to drive sales and revenue for all allocated titles
  • Create engaging content which speaks to your target audiences
  • Social media scheduling and creating and scheduling email marketing
  • Assisting with managing social channels including granting admin permissions, content planning, scheduling, monitoring and responding to messages
  • Assist with proof organisation and title management on Netgalley
  • Assist in devising influencer and bookseller events and supporting at the events
  • Influencer and brand/partner pitching and research including address collection
  • Support on author shoots and at trade events
  • Create retail and trade marketing materials including catalogues
  • Create, brief and print point of sale materials
  • Build relationships with key bookshops/booksellers and collaborate with them on marketing events and displays
  • Actively contribute to the strategy and growth of our direct-to-consumer and influencer channels, helping to grow our communities by crafting content that speaks to their tastes and interests and the cultural agenda
  • Seek out new opportunities for audience engagement and growth by identifying potential brand partnerships to reach new readers
  • General admin such as processing invoices and expenses, running and updating schedules, assisting with mailings, updating databases and documents, assisting the marketing director and team with calendar/meeting management and managing the marketing post room area
  • Actively participating in the Marketing team’s acquisition discussions, especially for literary fiction and lifestyle non-fiction
  • Support a culture of collaboration and transparency, as well as deliver best-in-class author care, working closely with the sales and editorial teams
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience of running consumer focused marketing campaigns, would be desirable
  • A passion for creating a range of different content marketing, from short-form to long form with an eye for what’s trending
