As a Geographic News Officer, you will be responsible for producing compelling content, managing local media opportunities and ensuring key messages are communicated effectively through a range of communication channels, with particular emphasis on media outlets.
Working closely with operational policing teams, senior leaders, partners and communities, you will identify local issues and create targeted communications that inform, engage and reassure the public.
What You'll Be Doing
Write media releases that promote the proactive work of local policing teams, instilling public confidence and reassurance.
Identify and promote positive stories, campaigns and operational successes through the media and other communication platforms.
Be visible with stakeholders, and policing colleagues across the Force area.
Set up and accompany policing teams and senior leaders at media events.
Create engaging content for digital, social, internal and traditional comms. channels.
Build strong relationships with media representatives, stakeholders and partner organisations to wide communication reach.
Develop and deliver communication strategies that support local policing priorities and community needs.
Visibility – accompany media, visit policing teams across the Force area, and partners
