Media Relations Officer

Our client requires a seasoned Media Relations Officer to manage external communications and build strong connections with the media landscape in Centurion . This role involves proactively engaging with journalists, responding to media inquiries, and pitching stories that highlight the organization's achievements and initiatives. You will play a key role in shaping public perception and ensuring positive media coverage, working remotely to connect with various stakeholders.

• Build and maintain relationships with media contacts across various outlets.
• Write and distribute press releases, media alerts, and other communication materials.
• Respond promptly and professionally to media inquiries and requests for information.
• Pitch story ideas and coordinate interviews for company spokespersons.
• Monitor media coverage and report on key placements and sentiment.

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in media relations or a similar role.
• Demonstrated success in securing positive media coverage.
• Excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools and techniques.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote setting, supporting operations in Centurion .
