About MakeshiftMakeshift is the strategic advisory that connects the world’s biggest brands with the best native creators in UGC gaming. We work with companies like Netflix, the LEGO Group, and Warner Music, helping them navigate creator ecosystems like Roblox, Fortnite, Minecraft, and GTA, and find the right partners to execute with.
We’re the trusted bridge between brands and the creator ecosystem. We’ve been in the UGC space for over 15 years, brokering the first-ever UGC brand deal in 2015 and leading some of the largest acquisitions and activations in the space since.
The RoleYou’ll help drive the production and delivery of our brand activation projects through launch and live-ops. This means being the primary day-to-day point of contact of the UGC studios. This requires creator-community fluency.
What you’ll do:- Run projects end-to-end. Manage timelines, milestones, and deliverables across multiple concurrent brand activations on Roblox, Fortnite, Minecraft, and GTA.
- Wrangle developers. Coordinate with external UGC studios to keep work on track. You’ll need to communicate effectively with native-platform developers who operate differently than traditional game studios.
- Client Fluency. Be able to translate developer concerns into client calls. Flag risks, manage expectations, and ensure brand/IP guidelines are followed throughout development.
- Strong Leadership. From new hires internally to partners at dev studios, we expect Director level candidates to not just perform, but level up those around them. On dev and client side we prioritize long term partnership and repeat business. Every project should not just perform, but raise the ceiling of what’s possible in the space.
- Own reporting and analytics. Track KPIs, compile performance reports, and surface insights that help our clients understand how their activations are performing.
- Protect quality and brand safety. Review builds to ensure brand and IP guidelines are met, flag issues, and ensure every activation meets both our standards and the client’s.
- Support deal flow. Build pitch materials, and participate in scoping new projects.
- 7+ years in production, project management, or account management, ideally in gaming or brand marketing
- Strong understanding of at least one major UGC platform (Roblox, Fortnite Creative/UEFN, or Minecraft).
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Highly organized with experience managing multiple concurrent projects with different stakeholders, timelines, and scopes
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, small-team environment where you’ll wear multiple hats.
- Self-directed. You need to take ownership, flag problems early, and drive things forward without being asked.
- Familiarity with the Roblox developer ecosystem
- Experience with branded content, IP licensing, or entertainment marketing
- Experience making pitches and wrap reports
- Familiar with tools like frame.io, can make pretty gantt charts, and can pick up new tools quickly
- Bonus based on projects you work on. We’re 100% bootstrapped, which means we can return money to employees rather than investors.
- Medical, dental, vision insurance with 100% of premium paid by the company.
- We’re 100% remote, but frequently go to conferences & visit clients.
