Internal Communications Manager

About the role

Are you an experienced internal communications professional looking for your next step?

As Internal Communications Manager, you will be responsible for creating and delivering audience-led, multi-channel communications to engage, inform and inspire Imperial’s 8,000 staff and 23,000 students in the university’s work and mission. You will have a diverse workload with your own portfolio of stakeholders, campaigns and projects to manage, as well as working across the team’s regular channels.

What you would be doing

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging, audience-focused internal communications campaigns that support Imperial’s key strategic priorities and organisational change. You will produce high-quality content across multiple channels, including newsletters, news stories, leadership communications, social media and video content.

You will look for ways to improve our internal communications channels and outputs, using data, analytics and audience insight to measure the impact of communications.

You will support and advise stakeholders and communication colleagues across the institution, building relationships and championing best practice.

What we are looking for Proven experience of managing audience-focused, multi-channel internal communication campaigns within a large and complex organisation, using data and insight to measure impact and inform decision-making.

Writing, editing and proofreading abilities, including the ability to coach and improve the work of others.

Relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work collaboratively and influence stakeholders at all levels.

An organised and proactive communicator who can manage competing priorities, work independently and respond effectively to emerging issues in a fast-paced environment.

This is a new role as part of investment in the Internal Communications team. We are also recruiting for a new Internal Communications Officer.

Led by the Head of Internal Communications, the team will be made up of four Internal Communications Managers and two Internal Communications Officers.
