Media Liaison and Content Creator

• Develop and pitch compelling story ideas to relevant media outlets.
• Write and edit press releases, media advisories, fact sheets, and other PR materials.
• Build and maintain a database of media contacts.
• Respond to media inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Create engaging content for social media, websites, blogs, and newsletters.
• Produce short-form video content and basic graphic design assets.
• Assist in the organisation of media events and press conferences.
• Monitor media coverage and prepare coverage reports.
• Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to align content with brand strategy.
• Conduct research for content development and story pitches.
• Manage social media accounts, including scheduling posts and responding to comments.
• Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and quality standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, English, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in media relations, content creation, or a similar PR role.
• Proven ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content for various audiences and platforms.
• Experience with social media management tools and best practices.
• Basic graphic design and video editing skills are highly desirable.
• Strong media pitching and relationship-building capabilities.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) is a plus.
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools.
• Must be based in or have strong ties to Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape
