Mission Communications Manager

The Mission Communications Manager leads Catholic Charities West Virginia’s (CCWVa) efforts to tell the story of our mission, elevate the experiences of the people and communities we serve, and engage others in addressing issues that affect them.

Working across programs and communities statewide, this position develops compelling content and stories; translates complex issues into accessible communications; and creates opportunities for supporters, partners, and communities to engage their networks in conversation about these issues and how CCWVa is working to address them.

The manager also provides strategic direction for CCWVa’s broader marketing and communications efforts, ensuring a consistent and compelling organizational voice.

This position requires a strong commitment to CCWVa’s mission and an understanding of and alignment with the principles of Catholic social teaching, particularly human dignity, solidarity, and a commitment to serving people who are poor and vulnerable.

This position will be remote with the option to work from one of our statewide offices subject to employee’s preference and office availability.

• Write and develop high-quality content.
• Lead mission-centered storytelling.
• Build a statewide story pipeline.
• Equip others to tell the story.
• Shape organizational voice and messaging.
• Lead marketing and communications strategy.

• Establish editorial priorities and communications calendars aligned with organizational priorities, programs, fundraising, advocacy, events, and emerging issues.
• Oversee the development of brochures, program flyers, event materials, advertisements, digital content, and other marketing collateral, whether produced internally or through outside contractors and vendors.
• Coordinate with designers, photographers, videographers, printers, freelancers, and other creative partners as needed, providing clear direction and ensuring quality of final products.
• Support crisis and time-sensitive communications as needed.
