Tourism Development Coordinator

Our client, an organization dedicated to promoting regional tourism in North West province, is seeking a motivated Tourism Development Coordinator. This role is primarily remote, allowing for strategic planning, research, and outreach from your home office, with occasional on-site visits to stakeholders and key tourism sites in Mahikeng and surrounding areas. You will play a crucial role in identifying opportunities for tourism growth, supporting local businesses, and developing new tourism products and experiences.

You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including government agencies, local businesses, and community groups, to foster a thriving tourism sector in North West . • Research and analyze tourism trends, market opportunities, and potential growth areas.
• Identify and support local tourism businesses and entrepreneurs.
• Assist in the development and implementation of tourism strategies and action plans.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to promote tourism initiatives and events.
• Develop and maintain databases of tourism products, services, and attractions.
• Assist in the creation of marketing materials and promotional campaigns.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of tourism development projects.
• Facilitate training and capacity-building programs for tourism operators.
• Liaise with provincial and national tourism bodies.
• Prepare reports and presentations on tourism development activities.

• A relevant qualification in Tourism Management, Business Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in tourism development, planning, or a related role.
• Strong research, analytical, and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
• A passion for regional development and the tourism sector.
• Experience working remotely and independently is essential.
• Knowledge of the tourism landscape in the North West province, particularly around Mahikeng, is advantageous.
• Ability to travel occasionally for meetings and site visits.
